Building Green in Petaluma
On January 23, 2006, the Petaluma City Council approved the creation of a new, voluntary green building program, authorizing Resource Performance Partners, Inc. to develop the program with the Community Development Department. The Petaluma Green Building Program, called “Petaluma Build It Green” reflects the City’s commitments to responsible development and environmental stewardship, and is seamlessly integrated into the Community Development Department’s operations.
Nov. 19, 2008 - Cliff Kendall, recently Chief Building Official and recently passed away, was a major factor in Petaluma's green iniatives. We will deeply miss Cliff, his energy, his positive attitude. In his honor, a tree was planted near the northwest corner of City Hall. Special thanks to Park and Rec, especially Ron DeNicola, formaking this happen. We'll miss you, Cliff.
