City Computer Access

....for employees working away from their desk -
This is not intended to be "telecommuting;" the access described below are intended for occasional use, and as a matter of convenience. If you have any questions, talk to your supervisor or manager about the working arrangements prior.
Information Technology is working on the following access for staff working away from the network:
- Secure VPN web portal to limited applications
- Outlook Web Access
Please remember you are still bound by City policies and the terms of your acceptable use agreements for email and computer access - these agreements are signed by all employees before being assigned userIDs.
Users are resopnsible for maintaining any computers used for remote access. This means Windows patches and antivirus solutions are TOTALLY up to date. If you have questions or concerns, please don't use the remote access.
In all cases, you must be sure to use valid, current city user credentials - userID and password. If prompted for domain, be sure to prefix the userID with “cofp\” (don't use the quotes).
Outlook Web Access - You can access email remotely, if you use your credentials and have a compatible web browser. With Outlook Web access, your offline folders are not accessible; generally, other Outlook features are mirrored within the web access. Note there is no support available for this service, provided only as-is.
If you have a voicemail box (not a shared one), your voicemail is integrated with your email. You can play voicemail through your email access, only to the extent your system has the ability (e.g., Blackberries can't play voicemail).
