The Recreation Services Division provides a variety of recreation programs for both youth and adults including sports leagues and instruction, aquatics, daycamps and after-school programs, and a variety of recreational classes. The Parks Maintenance Division of Public Works are responsible for the operation and maintenance of a wide array of parks and recreation areas that inclues trails, public facilities, and open space. In addition, staff are responsible for parks and facilities rentals.

Movies in the Park

This summer Movies in the Park will be occuring every Friday evening beginning June 11.

Lucchesi Park, 320 N. McDowell Bldvd. Petaluma, CA.

Movies begin at dusk (approx 8:40pm).

Preshow entertainment, plenty of free-parking, free, food, drinks, raffles, local vendors.

Gates open at 4:00pm * Free Admission

Come early to enjoy food, drinks, and desserts from local concessionaires! Bring low lawn chairs, blankets, warm clothes, and flashlights.

Music by Randy and the Special Agents and more!

No BBQ's, Pets, Alcohol, Fireworks of any type, weapons, or contraband permitted on Fairgrounds Property.

Fireworks by Zambelli. Presented by City of Petaluma in Conjunction with Raley's, Kiwanis and Jerico Products. Additional donations form Out West Garage, Cal West Rentals, Ross Recreation, Clover Stornetta, Old Chicago Pizza, Petaluma Village Premium Outlets, First Community Bank, Sonoma Marin Fair, Petaluma Speedway, and many other community members. Donations still being accepted.

Operated in partnership with Friends of the Petaluma River. Open by appointment. The River Heritage Center project is multi-focused:

  • Increase public awareness of the historic uses and environmental value of the Petaluma River through displays, events, and programs.
  • Restore the classic livery stable on McNear Peninsula as a living history museum that focuses on the river's natural resources and cultural history.
