Parks and Recreation isn't just for kids! Our department offers a wide selection of activities and recreational opportunities for adults.
Petaluma offers a large selection of competitive adult leagues throughout the year. The Adult Sports Division is dedicated to providing exceptional rec reational opportunities for all participants including volleyball, basketball, and softball leagues; and open gyms.
We also provide a listing of youth sports associations.
Adult classes range from dog obedience to painting, kayaking to dance and everything in between. Be sure to check out our latest Activity Guide for all our current offerings.

We have two Aquatics facilities to meet your needs:
The Petaluma Swim Center

Open Seasonally. The Petaluma Swim Center has a 50-meter heated outdoor pool and a heated wading pool from 2-3 feet deep. The complex includes heated showers, dressing rooms, a large deck and picnic areas.
The Cavanagh Pool
8th & G Street

Open Seasonally. The Cavanagh Pool is a 20yd x 6yd heated outdoor pool. 3ft to 6ft deep. Water temperature is approximately 86 degrees. Full stairs at one end of the pool. Pool area is sheltered on all sides by walls. Entrance is on 'G' Street.

We offer three different Summer Camps, beginning at age 4 and continuing through children entering the 8th grade.
We offer a wide range of programs for adults and active seniors in our community. If you would like to receive a monthly newsletter detailing services, classes, special event programs, and trip discounts please contact the Senior Center at 707-778-4399.

If you are interested in teaching a class through the Petaluma Parks & Recreation Department please fill out and submit a Spring 2011 Proposals. Spring Proposals are due to the Recreation Office no later than September 10, 2010. Completed proposals received by the deadline will take priority. Incomplete forms may be returned to the instructor for completion.
