Dredged in the last century to serve as the head of navigation for Petaluma's bustling egg, hay, and lumber industries, the Turning Basin is still flanked by historical building that bring 19th century charm to Petaluma's Downtown. Today it's the destination for yachters and seasonal fishing boats, as well as Petaluma's boulevardiers who lounge by the hour in open-air riverfront restaurants. Projects in this reach include renovations of the Historic Downtown Trestle, Goldean Eagle Waterfront, Turning Basin, Small Craft Rental Center, Cavanagh Landing Park, the C Street Pump Station, C Street, and possible Small Craft Center.
