Lieutenant Mike Cook
Lieutenant Mike Cook started with the Petaluma Police Department in January of 1986. Lieutenant Cook served as a Field Training Officer, SWAT Team member, and Narcotics Detective before promoting to Sergeant in 1992. Promoted to Lieutenant in 2001, Lieutenant Cook's experience includes serving as the SWAT Team Leader, Administrative Sergeant, K-9 Program Supervisor, and Field Training Program Supervisor.
Lieutenant Cook holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Management from Saint Mary's College in Moraga. He is a graduate of the Supervisory Leadership Institute, Leadership Petaluma, the WestPoint Leadership Program, and is a POST Command College graduate. Lieutenant Cook is currently the Special Operations Lieutenant and supervises the Detective Unit, Traffic Unit, SWAT/HNT, and Parking Division. Additionally, Lieutenant Cook oversees the Animal Control Department for the City of Petaluma.
