Police Department Home

The Petaluma Police Department recognizes that there are many members of our community who suffer from, or have family members that suffer from mental illness. In our continued effort to better serve the needs of those individuals and their family members, the Petaluma Police Department works closely with various community organizations that can provide help to those individuals and their family members who are in need of mental health services. The listed links are to some of those organizations that can provide resources for those that suffer (consumers) from mental illness.

These resources are not necessarily open 24 hours a day and/or 7 days a week. Please call 9-1-1 in the event of an emergency. For suggestions on ways to better communicate with the police, please refer to Buckelew’s Guidelines for Effective Communication with 911 Dispatch (www.buckelew.org/programs/sonoma.html).
